The 2010 SCAFL Metro season begins this weekend down in the OC with matches between the OC Jets and Riverside Raiders and the LA Swans taking on last years runners-up, the Beachside Sharks.
Both matches looks to be great contests, with the SCAFL gearing up for a really even and close season.
Best of luck to all the new players turning out for all teams, but the Swans would like to make special mention to our new players.
Chris Randle, Doug Equils, Brian Mellblom, Tim Asimos and Ben Edmonds all look like making their Swans debuts this week.
For all returning players, the 2010 season could be the one that takes the Swans back to the top and possible premiership glory.
Our squad is one of the strongest assembled in a couple of years, with the staples of Corey Irwin, Colter Allison and Mark O'Shea all suiting up for another year.
Unfortunately Big Country wont be making his way onto the park to play due to a possible career ending leg injury, but his presence on the sidelines will be invaluable.
A couple of players from previous years will also be making some appearances throughout the year, with Mark Baird putting his LongShot Coffee cart aside when he can to bust some packs and slot a few goals, while our fly-in star from the desert, Chris Stewart, should make a couple of Metro games to ensure he qualifies for both the Metro finals and the 18-a-side Bombers games.
To the rest of the Swans squad, lets make 2010 a great year for us all
Get on board, train hard, enjoy each others company and bring home the cup come May.
See you all there on Sunday.
GO SWANNIES!
